Luminescence Records

The Luminescence Records label presents a limited catalog of recordings of acoustic music in jazz and new music genres. Striving for the highest quality throughout the production process, we start with well-crafted music performed by talented musicians and record with the goal of capturing the best natural acoustic sound possible.

Along with the recorded music, the design of the compact disk and enclosure is also important. In a partnership with Studio Twelve 3, we present innovative and creative packaging that matches the quality and care that goes into preparing the music.

Luminescence Live

The Luminescence Live imprint was designed to contrast the Luminescence Records catalog by focusing on live performances, recording in the moment and capturing the energy and magic of musicians interacting with their audiences. Luminescence Live focuses specifically on documenting live music-making within the robust Chicago jazz and free-jazz music scene.

In a parallel spirit of improvisation and adventure, this music is released in limited editions of one hundred (100) copies only per album. Collaborating with Studio Twelve 3, each individual copy is hand prepared, assembled and numbered. Just like live performances, no two copies are exactly alike.
